Our March Newsletter takes us to Celebree Learning Centers in Baltimore, Howard, Anne Arundel, Harford, and Frederick Counties in Maryland as well as Bear, Delaware.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
The week of March 3-7, Celebree Learning Centers marked the 110th birthday of Dr. Seuss. Earlier, we covered our Severna Park center’s celebration. Today, we take a look at Dr. Seuss Birthday Events in our Cockeysville and Bear, DE, centers.
Cockeysville gave each day its own Dr. Seuss theme:
- Mismatched Monday
- PJ Tuesday
- Wacky Wednesday
- Favorite Colors Thursday
- Favorite Characters Dress Up Friday
On Friday, each classroom made a food treat based on a Dr. Seuss book. Yummy treats were inspired by Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and The Lorax
In Bear, the week began with the Kindergarten Readiness class making their own version of Green Eggs and Ham, with children getting hands on experience measuring and mixing ingredients. On Friday, Twin Day was celebrated, and the older 2’s paraded down the hall in matching “Thing” shirts.
Spring is Here
On March 20th, the first day of spring, Squiggle joined the Forest Hill and Rock Spring centers at Rita’s in Forest Hill. Nothing says springtime like a delicious treat!
Budding Artists at Work
Severna Park’s Infant B class enjoyed a creative sensory experience, painting with a comb.
The Travels of Flat Stanley
In preparation for their April unit on the earth (Earth Day is April 22), students in Frederick Spring Ridge began a Flat Stanley project. Inspired by the book Flat Stanley, written by Jeff Brown and illustrated by Tomi Ungerer in 1964, the project will help children grasp the concept of geography, as they track the adventures of Flat Stanley. Stay tuned!
