Celebrating Our Youngest Learners!
During the week of April 24th – 28th , we will be celebrating the Week of the Young Child!
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Yong Children (NAEYC), the world’s largest early childhood education association.
The Purpose of WOYC is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
NAEYC first established the WOYC in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children’s success in school and later in life. The WOYC is a time to plan how we – as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation – will better meet the needs of all young children and their families.
This year’s theme for Week of the Young Child is Celebrating Our Youngest Learners. Each day during WOYC Celebree Learning Centers will have daily celebration ideas with a variety of enriching, fun activities for you and your child. We invite you or your family members to partake in the fun! Better yet, share your fun with us using #CLCWOYC2017 !
